Ob Life Insurance Project Pakistan
PREFACE
The contribution of the service to the Pakistani economy
is increasing at an extra ordinary rate and the present financial services
revolution looks certain to reinforce that trend considerably. The context does
not claim to exhaustive and the balance must inevitably be open to criticism,
but in attempting to give a general insight to the casual inquirer, the needs
of those seeking in-depth knowledge within particular areas must inevitably be
sacrificed.
This
report covers a detail and analytical view of the State Life Insurance
Corporation. As the title of this report is the essence of the hard working.
This report has been written in the hope that it will help anybody, who read it
carefully to obtain a real understanding of the basic structures, functions and
techniques of the different departments of State Life Insurance Corporation.
I hope that the report is relatively free of
errors and will appreciate if errors are brought to attention.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I thank all mighty ALLAH, the beneficent and
the merciful, who gave me a chance and enough power to write this report. I
want to express my gratitude and thanks to the Zonal Head Deputy Manager PHS. I feel it my bounded duty to acknowledge
with deep gratitude and invaluable help extended to me by my respected teacher.
To
all these I can only say - Thank You. I hope that the end product is not totally
unworthy of the time and efforts they most generously gave.

OB Bank Alfalah Project Pakistan
Executive Summary
The term report is an essential
part of the course, Organizational behavior because through this students come
to know the real difference between theory and practice and they are also
introduced to the outside business world. An important requirement of this
study program is to compile a report about the activities of that organization
in which the student has studied the organization behavior.
We have studied organizational
behavior in Bank Alfalah Limited. This report provided us great opportunity to
equip ourselves with knowledge, techniques, application and tools used in an
organization.
The report covers various
features of knowledge. It starts with the brief history of Bank, covers current
status, mission statement, vision statement, slogan, subsidiaries &
associates, performance.
The major portion of this report
explains the organizational behavior of
Bank Alfalah.
Division of departments and their
activities highlights the working of Bank Alfalah and our learning experience
elaborates how much these visits were useful for me. Financial analysis
represents the true picture of the performance of Bank. Concluding the report
there are certain recommendations and suggestions for the bank in order to have
improvements.
The source of information for the
preparation of report includes the written notes extracts from banking
literature and verbal discussion with bank officials.
We hope this report will help in understanding various
aspects and features of Bank Alfalah Ltd. and will be equally important for
business administration students and persons making future banking.

What Makes a Leader
What
Makes a Leader
Truly effective leaders can be distinguished by a
high degree of emotional intelligence, which includes self-awareness,
self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skill. Identifying individuals
with the “right stuff” to be leaders is more art than science. Many large
companies today have employed trained psychologists to develop “competency
models” to aid them in identifying, training, and promoting likely stars in the
leadership firmament. Emotional intelligence not only distinguishes outstanding
leaders but can also be linked to strong performance. People who have a high
degree of self-awareness recognize how their feelings affect them, other people
and their job performance. Self-regulation frees us from being prisoners of our
feelings. Due to self-regulation, leaders control their feelings and impulses,
to create an environment of trust and fairness. Motivation drives passion in
leader to work for reasons that go beyond money or status, with strong desires
to achieve goals. Empathy is particularly important today as a component of
leadership for three reasons; increasing use of teams, globalization and
retaining talent. Social skill is moving people in direction you desire. For
the sake of performance, these are ingredients that leaders “need to have”.
Seven Transformations of Leadership
Seven
Transformations of Leadership
Many developmental psychologists agree that what
differentiates leaders is not their leadership, personality or management, it’s
their internal “action logic's”. The leaders who make an effort to understand
their own action logic can improve their ability to lead. For this, it is
important to understand what kind of leader you are.
The seven
developmental action logic's are Opportunist, Diplomat, Expert, Individualist,
Strategist or Alchemist. Leaders can improve through these categories as their
ability grows. The encouraging think is that leaders can transform from one
action logic to another, transforming themselves from experts to achievers,
individualists to strategists, etc. leaders who are moving towards the strategist
and alchemist action logic's are no longer primarily seeking personal skills
that will make them more effective within existing organizational systems. The
strategist culture produces effective teams, in which the group sees business
challenges as opportunities for growth and learning on the part of both
individuals and the organization. The leader’s voyage of development in not an
easy one, some people change little in their lifetimes, some change
substantially. Those who are willing to work at developing themselves and
becoming more self-aware can almost certainly evolve over time into truly
transformational leaders.

PREFACE
We are living in a time of
extraordinary change. The environmental and economic threat is frightening
large on the entire sphere of Pakistan
economy. Pakistani firms must design and make better products and services and
should find better ways to market them. What was once regarded enough is no
longer competitive. What were once limitless resources are now to be used more
efficiently. Today an organization is on the leading edge.
I have tried my best to
peep into the generic as well as real cumulative problems faced by the pioneer
of banking industry in Pakistan.
Several chapters have been included in the report but they seem to be very
conventional in nature giving supplementary justification to the fact that ABL
is the most conventional of the conventional bank.
